Industry

There are two PIA affiliates currently involved with our project: Pacific Printing and Imaging  Association and PIA Mountain States. The health and vitality of the printing industry is our reason for being here, and so we welcome any and all PIA organizations and will gladly add your events, links to your sites, and content from your leadershp. But let’s talk about PPI and PIAMS for a moment, shall we?

PPI is one of the most active, foward thinking PIA groups in the country. Jules Van Sant is  working hard; PPI membership is up and member companies have a Director who is adding major value. She is doing very important things and we are honored to have her involvement.

There are a few dimensions to PPI’s activity with Hi-Res Kills. First, we benefit from Jules’ knowledge and foresight; secondly, we are providing hot links to her site and receiving event notifications from PPI so we can highlight them here for users from the Pacific Northwest - or perhaps you’re going to be in the great northwest - in which case you might want to make some time for one of their many educational programs- they do lots of them and they’re all REALLY good!

Lastly, the Pacific Northwest Color Management User Group, a collection of experts (some of them PPI Members) is providing their expertise to us as our Color Management Advisors. Any questions about color management can and may be answered by one or more of the members of the Pacific Northwest Color Management User Group (PNWCMUG). This group is composed of two bases: Portland OR and Seattle WA and is comprised of people dedicated to educating everyone they can on the subject of color management.
PIA Mountain States.  Kathy Lauerman has been around the printing industry and worked hard on education for quite some time - she knows most of the players, all of the issues, has a heart for education and the soulful of love for the industry.   She is a real asset to Printing in general, to the Rocky Mountain states and to us.  She provides Rocky Mountain state PIA member companies with reasoned and seasoned leadership. Through Kathy and PIAMS we were able to bring Gabe Trapani, a consultant to PIAMS in printing plant efficiency, to our team of world-class advisors.   We are excited to have the experience and advice of such wonderful people.  If you are a printer from the Mountain States region and aren’t a member of PIAMS, call Kathy and join, she will add real value and you’ll be glad you made the call.
